KlaudTravels from London

HikesFootballPadel

I live in London, but I've attended several People's Circle events in Oxford, including hikes, football sessions, and a padel tournament.

Every event I've attended has been well organised, welcoming, and genuinely focused on bringing people together. What stands out most is the sense of community they've created. It's easy to turn up on your own and feel included, which isn't always the case at other groups or events.

Living in London, there are plenty of run clubs, football groups, and other activities, but there aren't many communities that bring people together in the same way. A lot of places focus on a single activity, whereas The People's Circle has created something bigger that encourages people to meet new people, stay active, and feel part of a community.

The fact that I'm willing to travel from London to Oxford to attend events says a lot about the value of what they've built. Beyond the events I've attended, I've also seen the range of activities they organise for different age groups and interests, all with a positive message and a genuine focus on helping people connect.

I think organisations like this are becoming increasingly important, especially as many traditional community spaces and youth groups have disappeared over the years. The events are already excellent, but with additional support from sponsors, local businesses, or the council, I'm sure they could reach even more people and create an even greater impact within the community.
